Lughnasadh

As the festival of Lughnasadh, honouring Lugh, God of Light, approaches in the Northern Hemisphere, we begin to reflect, despite the bright sunshine, on the coming of the Dark of the Year. This is the time of First Harvest, of gathering in and reaping the fruits of the labour of the past few months. We remember the story of the Lugh, his defeat of Balor, of the Fomorians, and his foster mother Tailltiu, who brought agriculture, growth and abundance to the land, who expended so much of her vital energy on this task that she gave her life to it.

Soon coming, a video with reflections on Lughnasadh and the story of Lugh.

May this harvest time bring blessings of sustenance and abundance to you all.
